JKSHIM Udupi was founded in 1998 as the NMAMIT Department of Business Administration. The department was then renamed Justice KS Hegde Institute of Management in 2006. The institute, also known as JKSHIM Udupi, is named for the late Justice K. S. Hegde, the founder of the Nitte Group of Institutes.
